Spanish Interpreter/Translator

Position Purpose: Spanish Interpreter/Translator is under the supervision of the Statewide Family Child Care TA Director. TheSpanish Interpreter/Translator is responsible for assisting non-English speakers across a range of activities. The interpreter will provide interpretation services during coaching and support sessions to Family Child Care providers with accurate communication and explanations with no additions or omissions of original communication.

Scope of Authority/Responsibility: The Spanish Interpreter/Translator reports to the Statewide Family Child Care TA Director. The Spanish Interpreter/Translator is responsible for assisting Spanish speaking Family Childcare providers during coaching and support sessions.

Minimum Hiring Requirements

Academic: Bachelor degree in early childhood education or a related field.

Experience: 3 years’ experience in early childhood field OR state awarded preschool teaching certification with experience working with children birth through 5.

Other Requirements: Excellent bilingual communication skills, both verbal and written. Must speak fluent Spanish and English and understand early childhood education and what is considered best practices and developmentally appropriate activities for students 0-school age.

Pay Range: Full Time – Exempt – Full Benefits – Salary $42,244.80/annually.
