Position Overview
Infinity is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Satellite Operators to join our team and support 24x7 satellite operations and launch. This position will support the NRO Operations Squadron (NOPS) Operations and Launch Support (NOALS) program as a Spacecraft Operations Technician testing and performing on-console satellite operations at Schriever Space Force Base (SFB), Colorado (near Colorado Springs). This role will be responsible for executing satellite command and control operations and performing real-time satellite commanding and telemetry analysis. Duties include testing and on-console activities involving satellite operations during launch and early orbit support and long-term operations. Plan, set up and configure ground communication support. Develop validate and execute pass plan. Advises leads and/or management of failures and degradation. Advise leads or management of predefined recovery procedures.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct real-time satellite operations including commanding and telemetry analysis
  • Support satellite constellation mission planning activities
  • Configure satellite ground system and network supporting satellite operations
  • Perform satellite telemetry, tracking, and commanding functions
  • Perform launch and early orbit checkout and 24/7 real-time satellite operations
  • Assist in developing checklists and procedures for satellite and ground systems
  • Establish voice, messaging, and data communications for multiple satellite programs of varying priorities and classifications
  • Configurations and monitoring of displays for computer and network equipment during normal mission operations
  • Troubleshoot and solve network and end-to-end communication issues
  • Multi-program coordination and scheduling using COTS software tools
  • Determination of any anomalous conditions and providing corrective actions as required
  • Generation of downtime reports and other associated documentation for operational outages
  • Support to various operations status, engineering review and problem boards
  • Identification of areas of concern, issues, inefficiencies, and other non-value-added activities, as well as proven recommended solutions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment

Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires strong knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
  • Experience as a Satellite Operator or Engineer, to include telemetry, tracking and command, spacecraft procedures
  • Experience conducting satellite operations with the Satellite Control Network in a real-time operations environment
  • Experience monitoring the activities of satellites
  • Familiarity with satellite ground systems, including hardware, software, and communications architecture
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, demonstrated by frequent and successful application of technical standards, theories, concepts and techniques
  • Familiar with UNIX and Windows-based computer systems
  • Willingness and ability to work multiple shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as overtime
  • Ability to create and follow standard processes and clearly document results
  • Able to distinguish the difference between colors on a computer monitor (specifically red, blue, and green)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree within a technical degree in a related discipline with 0 years of experience and/or relevant satellite operations experience
  • Ability to interface effectively with users, customers, management and engineering personnel
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Be comfortable using intercom systems, in addition to phone systems, as a frequent medium for communications
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Objective thinker, problem solver with ability to execute challenging tasks to completion

Education/Experience
Minimum of high school diploma and 2+ years of relevant experience, associate degree and 1+ year of relevant experience, or bachelor's degree and 0 years of prior relevant experience.
Clearance Requirement
TS/SCI clearance and willingness to submit to and obtain a CI polygraph.
