Job description

General Purpose:

The primary responsibility is to assist guests by scheduling services for individuals and large groups, checking in guests for their appointments, and provide a general spa orientation upon arrival. The Spa Receptionist will confirm appointments with guests, answer any questions about the services at the spa, and collect payment for the services. Throughout the day the Spa Receptionist is expected to update the schedule for any appointment additions or changes.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Regular attendance and reporting to work on time, ready to begin your shift is an essential function of employment (being tardy places an unfair burden on the team)

Expectations of all Employees:

  • Be polite, courteous and helpful to all guests and coworkers, displaying a positive “can do” attitude while maintaining a high level of professionalism consistent with the company values
  • Acknowledge our guests with a smile and friendly “hello.” Promptly attend to guest needs
  • Comply with all hotel policies and procedures, i.e. Employee Handbook, Conduct Policy, Safety Policy, etc.
  • Comply with guest privacy standards
  • Report to your supervisor or the MOD, immediately,allinjuries occurring while on duty, no matter how minor. (Fraud, Dishonesty and False Statements regarding an injury will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination)
  • Act as a safety and security agent by identifying and reporting potential risks to guests and/or employees to the Manager or General Manager
  • Arrive to work on time (follow call-out policy), and in appropriate work attire, (uniform, foot wear and name tag) neat in appearance
  • Complete work in a timely manner and meet productivity standards/expectations
  • Keep work area clean, neat, and well organized
  • Demonstrate a team behavior and attitude of working together effectively to accomplish tasks (even if outside specific job duties)
  • Seek approval from management prior to working overtime (i.e. punching in early or staying beyond scheduled shift)
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform job functions with minimal supervision, focusing attention on guests’ needs, remaining calm and courteous
  • Maintain complete knowledge of:
  • Hours of operations and activities of hotel
  • Spa services and products
  • Scheduled daily group activities
  • Proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment and proper chemical handling
  • Comply with, spa and departmental policies and procedures
  • Promote positive relations with all individuals who approach the fitness and locker areas; greet each guest warmly and provide a courteous good-bye
  • Accommodate all guests’ requests expediently and courteously
  • Handle guest complaints by following hotel procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Successfully complete the training process
  • Answer telephones and email communications in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist guests with scheduling of appointments.
  • Process payment transactions.
  • Upselling and maximizing exposure of all spa services.
  • Sale and recommendation of retail products, ensuring optimal merchandising opportunities.
  • Give general information and promote the Spa to the highest level including welcome rituals, facility tours, and fond farewell.
  • Ensure that all supplies/amenities are available to guests (welcome drinks, towels, etc).
  • Ensure the placement of dirty or used items in the proper containers
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment and storage areas in spa reception and retail boutique.[SD1]
  • Notify management of all maintenance needs
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions
  • Perform any task deemed necessary by management

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
