Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of food production in the kitchen
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and recipe development
- Ensure that all food is prepared and presented according to established standards
- Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety procedures
- Manage kitchen operations during shifts, including coordinating food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of meals
- Assist with banquet and event planning, including menu creation and execution
- Maintain inventory control, including ordering and receiving of ingredients and supplies
- Monitor and enforce food safety regulations and sanitation standards in the kitchen
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably as a Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager
- Strong knowledge of food production techniques, kitchen management, and shift management
- Experience with banquet operations and bartending is a plus
- Excellent team management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse kitchen staff
- Proficient in inventory control and cost management
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to enforce proper sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure
