We have an immediate need for a Buyer. This role is based in Los Angeles.
Summary of duties: Managing the supply chain activities related to sourcing, procurement, and delivery of all items as assigned. This includes identifying and qualifying suppliers, cost reduction, coordination of inbound freight, purchase order creation, pricing/applied cost, inventory management / stocking strategies that meet company fill rate objectives, lead-time reduction, payment terms, and overall supplier development. This work is done in conjunction with the product development / brand, planning, operations, and quality departments. Management of special projects as assigned related to the supply chain function.
This position reports to the Director of Purchasing.
Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Work closely with the marketing team to understand their needs; act quickly to obtain pricing and samples to meet deadlines.
- Source new products and packages in multiple categories; locate and partner with trustworthy international and domestic suppliers.
- Work with international and domestic suppliers to verify production capacity, negotiate prices, enforce timelines, and guarantee quality control.
- Provide positive, problem-solving attitude to accelerate projects.
- Need to have the ability to manage several ongoing projects together.
- Negotiating with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and flexibility (e.g., support in product development, lead time reduction, …etc)
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- MRP (ROI) / Sourcing (Quoting) / Buying Process (PO Placement / Confirmation)
- Emails (New Art, Sourcing, PO Process, Issues, Questions)

- Achieve measurable and documented annual improvements in cost.
- Measure, report and improve in-stock rate by working with planning, supply base and consistent execution of MRP messages.
- Manages his/her supply base to meet AII requirements including quality, on time delivery and other compliance requirements.
- Timely completion of special projects as assigned.
- Set and complete at least three personal improvement goals.
Requirements:
- Highly preferred: advanced knowledge and experience with ERP systems, Excel, Access, and Outlook. ROI knowledge and experience.
- Experience with ERP software, quoting and sourcing, Microsoft Office, problem solving both personally and within a team environment
- Collective sourcing based on annual spend, supplier management, total cost management, sourcing new vendors, understand material and drawing specifications, advanced Excel knowledge and experience
- Preferred education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or MBA. Will consider some college or relevant job experience.
- 3-5 years’ experience in personal care products purchasing including sourcing and supplier management.
