```Duties```
- Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations using a variety of ultrasound equipment and techniques.
- Obtain and record patient history, including relevant symptoms and medical information.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and answering any questions or concerns.
- Position patients and equipment to obtain optimal images for diagnostic evaluation.
- Analyze sonograms, synthesizing information and providing preliminary findings to physicians.
- Maintain patient records and ensure accurate documentation of procedures performed.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including aseptic technique, to minimize risk of infection or injury.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide quality patient care.
```Qualifications```
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in performing a variety of sonographic procedures, including but not limited to: abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, musculoskeletal, and pediatric.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately interpret images and identify abnormalities.
- Familiarity with other imaging modalities such as X-ray, PET scan, or mammography is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while following established protocols.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Flexibility to work in various clinical settings, including hospitals, clinics, or emergency rooms.
