- Design, programming/development, and testing of Big Data components and Database Administration (DBA) and Management
- Documentation and deployment
The Solution Specialist – Big Data Cloud function is a mid-level position and part of the Solutions Specialist- Software job family.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyses and development of Big Data Analytics and Cloud computing solutions
- Develop and deliver Big Data and Cloud infrastructure
- Participate in all phases of the software/system development lifecycle, including in part:
- Requirement analysis
- Design, programming/development, and testing
- Documentation and deployment
- Test Big Data applications for functionality, data integrity, performance, usability, and security
- Document technical application, specifications, and enhancements
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering filed
- At least three years of experience in Big Data analytics and cloud computing, and including:
- Programing language skills including Java, Python, JavaScript, HTML, R, SAS and Scala
- Big Data Framework skills including Spark, Hadoop, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Docker
- Cloud technology skills for AWS including: EMR, S3, CloudWatch
- DBA technology skills including Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra
- Visualization technology skills including Tableau and QlikView
Other Position Requirements
- Experience with analyses, design, and development of Big Data and Cloud applications
- Experience developing software applications for infrastructure automation
- Experience developing and delivering new software/applications and enhancements
- Experience testing, troubleshooting, and making appropriate changes
- Experience documenting Big Data and Cloud environment specifications
- Demonstrated time and task management skills
- Demonstrated communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with analyses, design, and development of Big Data and Cloud applications
- Experience developing software applications for infrastructure automation
- Experience developing and delivering new software/application sand enhancements
- Experience testing, troubleshooting, and making appropriate
- Experience documenting Big Data and Cloud environment specification
