SAIC is looking for a Solutions Director to support the future of the CubeSat technologies and production in near North Charleston, SC with the commercial space systems integration and delivery team. This is an exciting time to be making history with the SAIC as commercial space market is on the brink of exponential expansion. You will work in a tight-knit collaborative team environment with opportunities to work full lifecycles from supporting business development and proposal activities throughout system development, production, and launch integration. You will apply design and operations knowledge and expertise in various areas of systems engineering, reliability, quality and mission assurance, system level test, probabilistic risk assessment and others.
ComSID is in the early stages of organizational design and looking for Space-experienced systems engineers with an entrepreneurial spirit. As the team builds out and refines capabilities, the breadth of experience offered in this role is unmatched in large companies in the Space industry. This position will be afforded a substantial amount of latitude and demands highly collaborative individuals to help set the team culture and foundation of success.
The SE&I Engineer supports a portfolio of CubeSat programs for design requirements baseline, interface management, change proposals, test anomaly troubleshooting, amongst other fast-paced challenges. A SE&I Engineer also provides summaries of current issues and tasks with the work in progress, technical SE&I and vehicle integration risks/areas of concern in the System Safety / Integration Status Report. Some additional duties are as follows:
- Support or lead design reviews to ensure requirements are captured to meet system needs at given maturity levels.
- This position performs capture technical activities supporting the portfolio of ComSID pursuits.
- Generate and/or review FMEAs, CILs, and interface documentation.
- Support or lead the development of ComSID-specific Process and Methodology Document.
- Identify failure propagation across interfaces.
- Support troubleshooting activities.
- Support supplier and partner technology development.
- Consult with business unit leadership on potential solutions to problems
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Aerospace) or STEM (e.g., Math, Physics) and eighteen (18) years of experience; Masters and sixteen (16) years of experience; PhD and nine (9) years of experience.
- Experience leading technical teams to include solution architects and solution developers.
- Experience supporting capture activities to include participating in Gate Reviews, writing specific sections of proposals, providing preliminary technical guidance for solutions, and task cost estimation
Target salary range: More than $225,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
