The Solder Assembler is part of our Electronics Division located in Houston, Texas. The primary duties of this position are to solder the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) in accordance to manufacturing instructions. This includes soldering components to PC Boards and performing other electrical related assembly procedures.
Responsibilities
This position is primarily responsible to:
- Perform basic SMT and thru hole hand component soldering per IPC-610 Class 3, J-Std-001.
- Operate hand and/or automatic tools safely.
- Lead forming of different types of electronic parts using hand tools and soldering station on PCB (Printed Circuit Board) assembly.
- Work with leaded and lead-free solder
- Basic ability to read PCB assembly drawing and related documents, ECN's, assembly instructions.
- Utilize electrical and manual tools such as soldering iron, de-soldering equipment, and solder removal tools.
- Basic understanding of PCB assembly processes, component installation sequence of thru hole components
- Maintain department specific records.
- Wash printed circuit boards.
- Pick-up and move printed circuit boards from station to station.
- Other duties may be assigned at the manager’s discretion.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years Soldering experience required. Must have fine pitch and through microscope with the requirement to pass a Soldering test.
- Soldering multiple components on a circuit board.
- Requires excellent speed and accuracy.
- Familiarity with ovens, hot plates, hot air pencils, etc.
- Soldering Experience per IPC-610 Class 3, J-Std-001.
- Ability to Read & Interpret Blueprints, Schematics, Traveler/Routers, Bills of Material & Wire Lists.
- Able to use microscope to solder for extended periods.
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal instructions and be detailed oriented.
- Fluent in English (read, write, speak)
- Maintain a clean, safe well-organized workstation through routine housekeeping.
- Available to work overtime and on the weekend when needed.
- Maintain courteous relationships with all parties, both internal & external
- On-site presence is required.
