Acara Solutions client in the Cancer Research industry is looking for a Network Engineer focused in SolarWinds to join their team!
Duration: 12 Months
Pay Rate: $60-70 an hour
Location: 100% Remote
The Network Engineer is a 'hands-on' position for the overall operations and implementation of data and voice networks throughout the enterprise, with a strong background in SolarWinds operations and management. The candidate will work on a team who is responsible for developing and understanding the present state and future vision of network/telephony inter-operability, as we migrate in various phases from non-standard to standard operating environment, including high availability to 'Cloud' applications.
Major Responsibilities:
- Maintain and support all SolarWinds modules, including IPAM for IP and DHCP scope administration. Monitors SolarWinds for anomalies and addresses them or escalates them to the appropriate engineer for resolution.
- Monitors and manages network capacity.
- Monitors and manages risk with regards to availability and security.
- Works with the Help Desk contractor to ensure resolution of ServiceNow Incidents, Problems, Changes, etc. within the SLA requirements.
- Strong knowledge and experience working with the Cisco Meraki environment.
- Proactively identifies risk, single points of failures, security issues, and other issues.
- Develop and implement remediation plans.
- Find Root-cause of problems and provide a long-term plan and resolution.
- Act as a consultant with other departments to ensure networking and communication will meet needs and capacity.
- Supports & maintains wired and wireless data networks and minimize downtime for all sites across the enterprise, including cable infrastructure, routers, switches, and load balancers.
- Resolves problems as referred by Global Services.
- Develop and maintains networking documentation and diagrams.
- Develop project plans.
- Provide periodic progress report to communicate project status.
- Analyze monthly vendor metrics for adherence to SLAs.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues as necessary.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience working with Networking, and Telecommunication on medium to large enterprise environments.
- SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) certification desired, but not required.
- Advance working knowledge of SolarWinds Orion or equivalent Network Management System
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies certification desired, but not required.
- CCNA certification desired, but not required.
