Position Specific Description
In the role of Solar Site Manager at Marshall Solar and surrounding Distributed Generation sites, you will assume responsibility for all operational facets on the maintenance and repair of the solar assets. Your chief priority will be ensuring the team's safety while concurrently focusing on maximizing performance and profitability per the operational framework. This will necessitate devising and executing strategies to elevate maintenance practices, diagnostic capabilities, and overall operational efficiency, resulting in heightened customer satisfaction and reduced service expenditures. Additionally, your duties may encompass:
  • Enforcing the implementation of Operational Safety Policy Instructions, ensuring field work aligns with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations, promoting sound employee safety practices, and fostering a culture of unparalleled employee safety.
  • Actively engaging in and leading Business Lean Six Sigma processes and projects.
  • Recruiting, nurturing, retaining, guiding, and advancing resources at sites to uphold professional standards and foster team development within a matrix environment.
  • Assuming accountability for all aspects of timely safety and environmental reporting, financial reporting, and inverter availability.
  • Collaborating closely with internal NextEra stakeholders to devise and execute operation-focused feedback and solutions for both planned and unplanned maintenance, improvement projects, development initiatives, and financial performance.
  • Serving as a positive and professional representative of NextEra Energy within the community and in interactions with customers.
  • Overseeing the performance of wind field operations within the designated contractual scope of responsibilities for external customers and stakeholders.

The ideal candidates will embody the following attributes
  • Possesses either a bachelor's degree in business or engineering or has accumulated six years of equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to different geographic locations for potential future roles
  • At least five years of hands-on experience in leading field services operations, preferably within solar inverter technology
  • Proficiency in collaborating effectively within a complex organizational structure and across all levels of the Company
  • Strong executive presentation skills
  • Certification as a Six Sigma green belt or a comparable quality assurance qualification
  • Proficient in network infrastructure, communication protocols, and web technology
  • Established track record of managing profit and loss responsibilities
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities and a track record of thriving in cross-functional and team-oriented environments.

Job Overview
Employees in this role will manage all aspects of a Solar Site or multiple sites, including the overall safe and reliable operations and maintenance activities related to solar power production. Individuals are responsible for the procurement of materials and services, materials management, budget development, financial forecasting, and other administrative activities.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Executes all aspects of Operation and Maintenance Agreements, Site Operating Plan, and the Environmental, Health, and Safety Plan including specific scope of services for site
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory and financing agreement requirements
  • Complies with all company and business unit processes and procedures and meets all annual performance indicators and metrics
  • Maintains integrity of site operating equipment at all times including preventive maintenance, equipment event reporting, root cause analysis of equipment failures, and corrective maintenance
  • Adheres to site critical operating parameters to Power Purchase Agreement(s) and Interconnection Agreement with no defaults
  • Ensures timely submission of all budget and financial forecasting requirements
  • Promotes use of quality tools and analytics
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • High School Grad / GED
    Experience: 5+ years
  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 5+ years
