Position Specific Description
Successful candidates will work within a project led organization while coordinating with other internal and external groups to ensure projects move successfully from development to the field construction team. Day to day activities as a pre-construction Project Manager include development of the project's technical scope, performing due diligence on solar project requirements from a design and construction standpoint, coordinating engineering and procurement teams, permitting and Development support, scheduling, leading certain engineering and equipment procurement activities, management of external engineering firm, technical review of engineering drawings and deliverables, supporting the construction cost estimating team with assumptions and delivering financial model inputs to the respective business unit, briefing the various levels of management on a project's progress, issues and risk mitigation. Current portfolio of projects spans the entire US, and some travel will be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management experience of renewable energy projects. PMP certification Preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline from an ABET accredited program. NABCEP certification preferred
- Demonstrate a good working knowledge of solar, electrical and/or building industry codes and construction practices
- Ability and willingness to travel to project sites (typically 20-30%)
- Excellent project management, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- 5+ years of related experience with Developer or EPC
Preferred Skills
Master of Business Administration or Masters of Science in Engineering Discipline
Experience with Energy Storage projects
Job Overview
This position is responsible for the overall management of the team and assigned projects, to ensure compliance within required budgetary, scheduling, and safety goals. Employees in this role coordinate and manage construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site. Employees in this role manage the engineering, procurement and construction oversight-activities necessary to develop, license/permit, erect, start-up, and commence commercial operations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
•Works collaboratively with resources in various disciplines to determine project priorities and work plans
•Meets corporate objectives with limited project management, scheduling and estimating resources
•Manages department resources to provide effective early-stage project development support
•Ensures projects are efficiently, effectively and safely implemented in accordance with department procedures and policies
•Manages walk down of planned work, validates acceptance of completed work to design requirements, approves contractor payment requests
•Verifies constructability, ensures proper resource allocations, assesses field status and resolves issues as needed
•Leads project meetings and reviews budget, risk tracker, and contingency allocations
•Interfaces with project's designated management committees, or acts as Executive Director of project activities
•Supervises activities and/or coordinates activities or groups, such as safety programs, engineering, construction, budget, and analysis and contract administration
•Oversees commissioning activities to meet corporate objectives, with limited project management, scheduling and estimating resources
•Performs other job-related duties as assigned

The base pay for this position is $116,000.00 to $174,000.00 per year. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
