TRISTAR is seeking a Software Tester for our upcoming Federal Government Contract located in Bloomington IN - Position is 100% remote
Position Description:
- The Software Tester designs, develops, and implements test and evaluation strategies, plans and methods to assure reliability of systems in conjunction with system specifications
- Ensure systems comply with requirements and standards through formal verification methods
- Coordinates system integration, test, evaluation, and transition activities with customer and team
- Conducts readiness for system integration, test, evaluation and transition activities
- Compiles data and defines changes required in testing configurations, testing procedures, testing processes, or new testing requirements
- Implements testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes
- Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics
- Performs analysis and evaluations of systems under test. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures
- Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive system evaluation reports and risk assessments
Position Responsibilities:
- Execution of both manual and automated test and test cases. Analyze results
- Write test cases
- Evaluate product code according to specifications
- Create logs to document testing phases and defects
- Conduct post-release/post-implementation testing
- Collaborate closely with developers to resolve identified issues
Position Requirement:
- 5+ years of experience in software testing or development
- Methodical approach, yet actively engaged with team and project
- Attention to detail
- Support hardware and software in test environments
- Experience with system, smoke, regression, automated and acceptance testing
- Communicate effectively, i.e. strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience performing software testing
- Must be a US Citizen
- An active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one
Education and Certification:
- Bachelor's degree
- Industry certification required for IAT Level II in accordance with DoD 8570 (for example CompTIA Security+) - willing to obtain prior to start date
