Job Duties and Responsibilities:DISH is looking for a Software Test Engineer who will test software quality with automated and manual tests. In this role, you will work across teams to test current systems, identify areas for improvement, and document defects. You will work closely with other members of the IT Wireless team as well as with stakeholders across the organization to understand test requirements and translate them into test sets for delivery of fully tested and performant systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement tests for developed solutions using test automation and manual testing in the AWS environment
- Review and merge work from across teams ensuring quality deliveries
- Implement test automation to proactively identify issues and inefficiencies in current technological systems
- Work towards continuous optimization to ensure optimal functionality
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on system integration projects, ensuring seamless communication and integration between different technological components and platforms
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends and how to apply them to systems and business problems
- Identify routine and repetitive tasks within system processes and implement automation solutions to increase efficiency, reduce manual errors, and enhance overall productivity
- Act as a key resource in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues
- Collaborate with team members to address challenges promptly and ensure the continuous functionality of systems
- Create comprehensive documentation for test requirements test sets and results
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions within the team to ensure a collective understanding of system components and processes
- Address user queries and troubleshoot issues to maintain a high level of user satisfaction and system performance
- Participate in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Contribute to the iterative development of software solutions with a focus on testing the system and delivering value to end-users and the business
- Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to evolving technologies and methodologies
- Embrace a learning mindset to stay current with industry best practices and incorporate them into the development process
- Analyze performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact of implemented solutions on system efficiency, user experience, and overall business objectives
- Make data-driven recommendations for further improvements
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
- 2+ years experience in Software Test Engineering
Skills and Qualifications:
- Great communication skills - someone who is passionate about sharing your vision and getting others excited
- Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills
- Experience in testing systems
- Understanding of cloud environments and practices
- Software test experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and agile methodologies
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage tight deadlines
- Experience in telecommunications and 5G a plus
- Experience in inventory a plus
- Experience testing Java/SpringBoot-based microservices
- Experience testing RESTful APIs and services
- CI/CD and source control experience (branching, merging, rebasing)
- Experience testing container-based solutions such as Docker and Kubernetes
