Position Summary:
- The client is seeking a talented Technical Writer to who is responsible for creating and maintaining technical document, including user documentation, how-to guides, integration guides, systems operation guides, and product specifications that increase the experience for the digital platform. The Technical Writer will work with Business Analysts, Technical Leads and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather information, technical knowledge and produce technical documents that are accurate, complete and easy to understand. The candidate needs to communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- This contract is a hybrid position and may have the opportunity to renew starting next fiscal year, July 1, 2024.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Researching and gathering technical information from subject matter experts, engineers, and other technical professionals.
• Organizing and structuring information in a logical and easy-to-understand manner.
• Writing and editing technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, training materials, and online help systems.
• Creating diagrams, flowcharts, and other visual aids to help explain technical concepts.
• Collaborating with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
• Testing software applications and hardware products to gain a deeper understanding of how they work and how users interact with them.
• Reviewing and updating existing documentation to reflect changes in software, hardware, or technical processes.
• Ensuring that documentation meets established standards for quality, style, and format.
• Publishing and distributing documentation in various formats, such as PDF, HTML, and online help systems.

You should also be able to work well in a team environment and be comfortable collaborating with technical professionals from different backgrounds and disciplines. Finally, you should be able to stay organized and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
Qualifications
• Minimum 4-year degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field.
• 4+ years of relevant hands-on experience working in software development as a Technical Writer.
• Comprehensive understanding of the SDLC.
• Ability to deliver high quality documentation with great attention to detail.
• Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven skills in documenting complex business processes.
• Excellent written skills in English.
• Experienced in producing different flow charts and diagrams, including Business Process Flow and Entity Relationship Diagrams, etc.
• Familiarity with of multi-tier-software development, including backend, web service layer and user interface.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technology stack.
• Ability to effectively communicate with users having variable levels of technical expertise (e.g. Business Analysts and Developers).
• Must be a quick and enthusiastic learner.
• Comfortable working in a fluid environment where visions and requirements may change.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Applies a proven customer-first approach when working with others.
