The Software Support Specialist under the guidance and direction of the VP of Information Technology, is responsible for responding to IT Support tickets, answering basic computer and phone system user questions, and backing up ERP Systems Manager responsibilities.
Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
Job Duties (Technical Responsibilities):
- Provides technical support to users by researching and answering questions, troubleshooting problems, and providing feedback to management if a training issue exists. Includes managing the Support Ticketing System and ensuring support tickets are prioritized and managed in a timely fashion.
- Provides answers to clients by identifying problems, researching answers, and guiding clients through corrective steps.
- Improves client references by writing and maintaining documentation. This may include helping Operations Teams develop ERP best practices. May include participation in development of client training programs by identifying learning issues and recommending instructional language.
- Improves system performance by identifying problems and recommending changes.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and maintaining personal networks.
- Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Other Duties (Corporate Responsibilities):
- This position will interact with and engage all departments in the interest of improving operational efficiency and maximization of technology to keep a competitive edge.
- Provide feedback and trends on support tickets, working with upper management to improve areas related to training or system changes.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience:
Basic understanding of IT resources and advancing technology.
Ability to multitask and prioritize numerous request and projects from different users and business functions.
Basic understanding of ERP backend management and maintenance.
Fluent in Microsoft 365 products with an emphasis on Excel.
Intermediate in SQL Server (T-SQL), MySQL, or other SQL based data languages.
Basic understanding of PowerBI.
Ability to foster a strong sense of teamwork.
Ability to be efficient and effective in time management.
Ability to travel as needed.
Education:
Associates degree and/or relevant business experience.
Applicable Certificates in various Microsoft, SQL data languages, or other ERP software is preferred.
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions
This position will be working in an indoor office environment with a controlled climate. This position requires sitting at a computer desk for extended periods of time with use of a computer keyboard and use of hands to type. This position will continuously talk, hear, and read in verbal and written communication.
