This position designs, develops and executes test plans and test cases for integrated applications and changes to existing interfaces. Additionally, this position replicates issues and provides defect management/deployment to ensure a quality product provided to internal and external customers. This position reviews the quality of work, provides mentoring and training to junior team members, and serves as support escalation.

What you will do to contribute to the company's success

Set forth below is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities (or "essential functions") of this position:

Analysis, Design, Test Case Development and Test Execution 70% of the expected responsibility.

  • Executes functional testing, security testing, performance testing, load-testing, and regression testing, as well as UI testing, cross-browser testing, mobile and tablet testing via manual and automated processes.
  • Develops and documents detailed functional and technical test plans and test cases for various types of interfaces such as software, applications, Web applications, SOAP, Command Line, Windows services, and Database-level procedures, and jobs.
  • Provides support for continuous deployment and delivery of applications and downstream systems.
  • Designs data scenarios for data driven test cases and ensures test data is in place to support testing.
  • Performs defect management and data validation of reports.
  • Interacts with vendors to replicate issues, verify business scenarios, and to investigate situations around infrequent defect scenarios.
  • Develops and executes regression tests.
  • Analyze project requests to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
  • Works as part of a project team to coordinate network environments and determine project scope and limitations.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (A. A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Position will require up to 20% travel.

Other skills and abilities

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Intermediate certification in Database technologies such as SQL Server or Oracle preferred.
  • Certified Software Test Engineer (CSTE) preferred.
  • 4+ years hands-on experience in software testing is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in performing vendor management preferred.
  • Familiar with Web testing technologies, scripting languages such as JavaScript, Web languages such as HTML, CSS, SQL, and test automation preferred.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance methodologies and Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC) and continuous deployment/delivery preferred.
  • Experience working with relational databases is preferred.
  • Experience in regression and performance testing is preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is required.
  • Must be a self-starter with sound problem solving and excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must maintain a high degree of professionalism with a customer-centric mindset while ensuring business requirements are met.
  • Must observe Cable One's Basic Principles.
  • Must be flexible with schedule.
