The National Motor Freight Traffic Association, Inc., (NMFTA) a nonprofit membership organization headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking qualified applicants for the staff position of Software QA Analyst. NMFTA’s mission is simple: Promote, advance, and improve the welfare and interests of the motor carrier industry. We do this through research, education, lobbying and developing industry standards and best practices. The Software QA Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications thorough testing and validation processes at NMFTA. Working closely with development teams, the QA Analyst conducts comprehensive testing, identifies defects, and collaborates on solutions to enhance the overall software quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans based on project requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project goals and testing needs.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, and performance testing of software applications.
- Execute manual and automated test cases to validate system functionality.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts to streamline repetitive testing processes.
- Utilize testing tools and frameworks to enhance efficiency and test coverage.
- Work closely with software developers to understand system architecture and functionality.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure a shared understanding of quality standards.
- Create detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Maintain accurate records of testing activities and results.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Perform regression testing to validate that new code changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
- Provide clear and concise feedback to development teams regarding testing outcomes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address and resolve identified issues
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Software QA Analyst or in a similar role with 5 years experience
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in manual and automated testing tools.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality software.
