Title: Software Motor Controls Engineer

Hybrid role (4 days in office, Fridays remote / optional) – located in Carrollton, TX

Technical Skills:
- 1- 4 years developing Power/Motor Control Firmware using C and model-based design with tools like MATLAB Simulink
- Experience with hardware/software integration and development of embedded software to interface and Control Power Electronic Circuits and Motors
- Experience with Power Invertors or Motor Control industry on TI microcontrollers 28027, 28062F, 280025 or equivalent microcontrollers is required
- Design and debug peripherals needed for Motor Control such as PWMs, ADCs and timers.
- 1+ year design of analog and digital circuits and Control Boards
- 1+ year with modern control theory and applications
- Experience with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) software development
- 6+ mos. serial communication protocols (I2C, RS-485, RS-232, CAN, SPI)
- Familiar with industry standard embedded design and debugging tools (JTAG, protocol analyzers, emulators). - Familiar with Configuration Management tools (Version control, bug tracking, change management, automated builds, and coding standards)
- 1+ year Waterfall and Iterative processes
- Excellent interpersonal skills for both technical and non-technical staff and able to collaborate across multiple functional teams (Hardware, Testing, Technical Support, Manufacturing)
Education Requirements:
- Bachelors/Masters in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics is required
Duties:
- Help design, plan, develop and maintain software components for the Controls Engineering organization (on/off-shore team)
- Provide technical requirement definition with internal/external customers, marketing, manufacturing, etc.
- Participate in technical feasibility analysis and prototyping activities
- Implement and delivery of embedded software products and components using Waterfall / Iterative methodologies
