Job Description

We are seeking eager individuals with strong technical aptitude who want to grow in the software field. This is a full-time role that we call a Software Implementation Specialist and puts individuals on a path of becoming a Project Manager. You will work directly with on customer sites throughout the installation, commissioning, and support of our custom software packages.

The ideal candidate enjoys trouble-shooting software and hardware issues, customer interaction and traveling. Software Implementation Specialist must understand steps to troubleshoot and are capable to work well under pressure.

Job Functions

• Willingness to learn all aspects related to:
• Installing, starting-up and troubleshooting automation software and equipment including: Installing servers, setting up workstations,
• 3rd Party Hardware equipment installation and configuration: PTL (Pick to Light), serial scanners, 2D scanners, RF scanners, digi devices, voice
• 3rd Party Software installation and troubleshooting: notepad++, barcode label generation; manifest engines for UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc),
• Onsite installation coordination between internal business units, vendors and customers
• Perform network and custom software diagnostics using tools similar to wireshark
• Query databases (SQL or Oracle) for troubleshooting and data validation
• Leverage database tools (SQL or Oracle) like Activity Monitor or SQL profiler to pull data and/or analyze database queries
• Perform on-site quality assurance testing
• Defect Management. Isolates, replicates, documents, and reports root cause defects and verifies defect fixes
• Environment Management. Maintain synchronized environments and documenting on-site changes.
• Software Installation. Installs software promotes on test and production environments, performs needed configurations, and ensures that the software performs correctly.
• Responsible for daily site reports to the overall project manager or customer in certain circumstances. Ability to highlight show stoppers / barriers to complete scheduled tasks on time

Travel Requirements

• 70-80% overnight travel (Travel expenses paid by Bastian Solutions)

Preferred Skills and Required Qualifications

• Preferred degrees: CIS, MIS, IT or other technical related major.
• Previous troubleshooting abilities and analytical skills on both software and hardware a plus.
• Willingness to learn technical systems including networks and databases quickly. SQL knowledge is a plus.
• Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
