Form of workThe Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Application Development team. The role is responsible for developing and enhancing enterprise-level applications, and will design, implement, and troubleshoot a complex environment consisting of web application and database servers.
Key Competencies Desired:
Experience
- Prior employment experience in information systems
- Ability to manage competing demands, adapt to changes, and prioritize multiple projects
Development Fundamentals
- Experience executing unit and integrated tests of applications
- Ability to perform troubleshooting and debugging tasks
- Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation to assist with database, software, and web application maintenance and upgrades
- Collaboration with internal IT teams on problem resolution
- Exhibit strong technical and interpersonal communication skills
Agility
- Knowledge of Agile software development
- Ability to design and implement features from requirements stories
- Ability to assess work efforts and necessary time to completion utilizing Scrum/Agile frameworks
- Perform routine tasks, such as updating statuses and attending team meetings

FSMB offers a hybrid work environment with both in-office and telecommuting days. Telecommuting work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the FSMB office in Euless, TX.
