Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Engineer to join a growing team in Newport, RI working at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center that is designing, constructing, and delivering the next generation of undersea warfare Training Systems to the Fleet. Your focus will be on designing, implementing, testing, and delivering components of the Training Systems.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years' experience or a Masters degree or High School Diploma / Equivalent with 6 years' experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Two years relevant software experience.
- Familiar with object-oriented programming languages.
- Ability to perform basic tasks in a RHEL/CentOS Linux environment.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
- Work on site Newport, Rhode Island
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency working in RHEL/CentOS Linux environment.
- Working knowledge in software architecture and design of object-oriented applications, unit testing, debugging, and installation.
- Knowledge of Virtualization solutions such as.
- VMWare
- Red Hat KVM
- Working knowledge of C/C++.
- Working knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with configuration management and source control systems such as Git
- Knowledge of Modeling and Simulation Applications
- Knowledge of Navy Command and control, sensor, and weapon systems
- Active Secret Clearance
Salary Range: $81,000.00 - $121,600.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
