Siemens Smart Infrastructure is looking for interns for our Software Engineering team in Wendell, NC to support our portfolio of business, products and solutions. You'll make an impact by: Design program features, write the corresponding code, and collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders Familiarize yourself with version control systems like Git, and the tools and technologies used in the business' software stack Complete bug fixes by identifying and resolving issues in the existing codebase Participate in code reviews by reviewing code written by other engineers and providing feedback Investigate new technologies or tools that could be useful for the company Explore ways to improve the performance or scalability of the software product You'll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student studying Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
Ability to report in-person to the Wendell, NC office in a full-time capacity without housing or travel/relocation compensation assistance. Preferred Qualifications: Proficient in at least one programming language (such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript) A strong understanding of data structures (like arrays, linked lists, trees, etc.) and algorithms (like searching, sorting, etc.) Familiar with the software development lifecycle, including version control systems like Git, and how to write clean, readable code that follows best practices Experience with debugging code and writing unit tests to ensure the code functions correctly Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to prioritize work and meet project deadlines Good verbal and written communication skills You'll benefit from: Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to our employees. The hourly pay rate for this position is $25.00-$30.00/hr. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
