Software Engineer - Opengl

Sonalysts is seeking a Software Engineer with critical thinking and effective communication skills to perform systems and Software Engineering functions for defense projects.  The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the development of mission-critical military software applications across all phases of the system lifecycle.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Work on interesting and challenging software projects such as:
• • Modeling and simulation of satellite behaviors and advanced payloads.
  • Game-based training systems.
  • User interface design & implementation.
• Use analytical and problem-solving skills to program in modern programming languages and operating system environments.
• Work closely with the software test team and subject matter experts throughout the development process to provide technical knowledge and expertise.
• Participate in all areas of the software development lifecycle from planning through test and sustainment using Agile methodologies.
• Staying engaged in the technology market space and understanding how evolving, or disruptive technologies can benefit our organization and applications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field
• 3 years' experience with Modern OpenGL
• Knowledge of and experience with C++
• Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance*

Other preferred (but not required) experience:

• Advanced knowledge of C# and object oriented programming
• Performance optimization for OpenGL on PC platforms
• C++/C# interoperability  
• Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern
• Knowledge of terrain datasets and related tiling and rendering methodologies
• Possessing an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance*
