V2X seeks a results-driven Junior Software Engineer to join our software development and design teams working to develop advanced systems specializing in spectrum sharing, spectrum control, interference deconfliction, and automated system control. These applications may be specific to afloat Navy vessels and systems. As a result, any experience with afloat Navy combat, EW, radar, or other C4ISR systems is helpful.
In this role you will work as part of an Agile Scrum development team to produce professional software applications to provide enhanced functionality to Navy vessels and systems. Additionally, you may work alongside our Machine Learning Engineers to implement new Machine Learning advancements to legacy software applications. Applicants are not required to have experience in Machine Learning, however experience working in an Agile Software Development environment and experience with web development is preferred.

Responsibilities
What You'll do:
Work as part of a team that writes full software applications that provide functionality for our customers. Applications are usually tailored to a specific RF related activity or system. (20%)
Provide quick turn tailoring of current software to new/adapting customer requirements. (20%)
Profile tools and improve performance as required. (20%)
Bring value or provide enhancement to previously developed tools and applications including resource efficiency improvements, large dataset handling, simple Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) functions, parallelization, and integration with newer more advanced software applications. (20%)
Write software documentation and justify software development process to customers as required. (10%)
Participate in planning and design of software development activities and system level software designs. (10%)
Qualifications
Education: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience:
One (1) or more years of experience in software design, engineering, or programming.
Desired Experience:
Must have experience writing software for science or engineering projects.
Must be able to analyze information; design, develop, and document software with an understanding of complete software development life-cycle.
Experience working as part of an Agile Scrum development team.
Basic experience in solving challenging technical problems.
Experience performing code reviews.
Must be a highly self-motivated performer and work well both as an individual as well as in small groups to accomplish unique mission objectives.
Other Requirements:
Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
Software:
Basic knowledge of a scripting language such as C#.
Knowledge and understanding of Linux and Windows OS.
Technology:
Basic office equipment and developer computers/servers.
