Form of workA Software Development Engineer at SirsiDynix is responsible for designing & developing new features along with maintaining existing software in our Library Management System. You will work primarily with our Horizon product. You will be a member of a product team and work with a Product Owner to understand requirements and determine priorities. You will work with a team to solve moderate to complex technical issues and complete programming tasks with limited supervision.
We create solutions for Library patrons and staff to better the leaning opportunities of Library users worldwide.
Our goal is to create the “Best Library User Experience” we can.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the analysis of functional requirements
- Participate in the development of functional designs
- Participate in discussions determining preferred solutions and workflows
- Provide estimates to Product Owners
- Develop solutions along with appropriate tests
- Perform code reviews
- Troubleshoot defects and provide fixes
- Work with your team to improve processes
- Work with your team to evaluate new technologies
- Prototype possible solutions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably working in a Window’s development environment.
Demonstrated Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of computer systems, design methods and development patterns
- Capable of communicating clearly thoughts and concerns
- Ability to use problem-solving tools
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to learn new technologies using on-line resources
- Ability to follow standards and best practices
Experience with the following is required:
- C++
- Java
- RDBMS / SQL
- Windows Programming
Experience with the following is preferred but not required:
- Modula-2
- MSSQL
- Jenkins
- Subversion
Hiring Salary Range
- $88,000 to $95,000 salary range commensurate with experience.
Work Location
- This position has the option to be performed remotely from your home office or from SirsiDynix headquarters in Lehi Utah.
