Software Engineer Iii

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Software Engineer III, you will design, develop, and maintain full-stack software applications and services to support Natera data analysis and interpretation for genetic lab tests. You will work with operational teams to optimize their workflows and software and build the next generation of Natera software, using a combination of tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS degree in computer science, comparable program, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of overall software development experience, preferably building complex data or process management applications
• Nice to have: experience with object-oriented programming in Java, preferably using open source framework such as Spring Frameworks and Hibernate
• Experience with web services (REST, etc) and relational databases
• Nice to have: experience with front-end web programming, preferably with modern javascript frameworks (react, angular, etc)
• Demonstrated teamwork skills
• Solid analytical background
• Excellent communication
• Commitment to diversity in engineering
• Healthcare IT experience is beneficial, but not required

• Full-stack web application programming

• Relational Database and SQL Programming, prefer MySQL
• REST APIs and other Web service backend technologies
• AWS infrastructure
• Docker or container-oriented technologies
• CI / CD
• Quality Assurance Mindset; Nice to have: familiarity with regulated environments
• Python based Flask application development
• CI/CD on GitLab
• Postgresql DB tuning / AWS RDS configuration
• Datadog metrics programming
• Kafka and rest API interface (schema generation / validation)
• Camunda Rule Engine API
  The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.

• Work with an engineering team to make key design and technical implementation decisions
• Work closely with stakeholders and users to define requirements and transform them into reliable and extensible operations-friendly applications
• Design, build, and maintain sustainable applications using Python based Flask application development.
• This role works with Protected Health Information (PHI) on a regular basis in electronic form and has access to various technologies to access PHI in order to perform the job.
• You must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire.
• You must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements.
• You must pass a post-offer criminal background check
