SalaryTransCore, a subsidiary of ST Engineering is seeking an energetic, team player Software Engineer to join our top notch TransSuite® development team in Norcross, GA.
Summary - Our team works on an integrated family of transportation management software products, TransSuite® that is designed to meet a variety of traffic management needs within a single platform. TransSuite provides field-proven solutions for all Innovative Transportation Solution devices, including traffic signal controllers, freeway management data collection, ramp metering, dynamic message signs, CCTV controls and display management, incident management and response, and center-to-center interfaces.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for coding the execution of complex designs and interactions that reflect the creative and art direction provided within the established technical framework.
- Demonstratable skills in design, implementing and testing software modules.
- Able to perform high quality work, both independently and with a team.
- Author technical design documentation that fully define all application code and the underlying methodology for the design decisions made
- Provide accurate resource estimates, timelines and forecasts for development activities.
- Use and enforce best practices for code repositories and version control management.
- Thorough test version releases and code changes prior to deployment.
- Maintain awareness of development trends and technological improvements and capitalize on opportunities.
Required Skills & Experience: The successful candidate must have 1-5 years of commercial software development experience with Java and will demonstrate the following capabilities:
- Take requirements and deliver tested and documented software components that meet the requirements.
- Experience with source code management tools such as git
- Implementation of Java modules utilizing multi-threading with an understanding of thread safety
- Use of collections
- Use of SQL in Java software
- Implementation of software with an understanding of performance requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering
