MTSI is seeking a Software Engineer 1 specializing in Kubernetes, Docker containers, and the development of YAML files. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining our customer’s scalable and resilient software systems. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment and management of applications utilizing Kubernetes as a container orchestration platform. The candidate’s expertise in Kubernetes will be critical in enabling our organization to effectively manage and scale the customer’s cloud-native infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with software development teams to architect, deploy, and maintain applications leveraging Kubernetes.
• Design and implement scalable Kubernetes clusters to support the development and production environments.
• Develop automation scripts and tools for provisioning, monitoring, and managing Kubernetes deployments.
• Optimize system performance and troubleshoot issues related to container orchestration, networking, and resource management.
• Work closely with DevOps engineers to ensure seamless integration of Kubernetes-based systems into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in Kubernetes and contribute to enhancing our technology stack.

Requirements:

• US Citizenship Required. The candidate must be able to obtain a United State Government Security clearance (Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Strong proficiency in Kubernetes, including hands-on experience with cluster setup, deployment, and management
• In-depth understanding of containerization concepts and experience with Docker
• Proficient with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes, Helm, or OpenShift
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Solid programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Go
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Kubernetes (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator - CKA)
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and related technologies (e.g., Kubernetes Service Mesh)

Clearance:

• Must be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
