Siemens EDA is looking for a softwaredevelopment engineer to work on its Veloce Emulator product. Siemens EDAdevelops and manufactures emulators for functional verification ofSystem-on-Chip circuit designs. For emulation systems, custom software compilesa circuit design's high-level description into a low-level binaryrepresentation that can be loaded and run on the emulation hardware. Theindividual that fills this position will become a member of emulator compilerspecialists developing the compiler software for Siemens EDA's next generationemulators.
The Software Development Engineer will haveresponsibilities in development and improvement of the part of the compilerthat analyzes the customer design in order to map it on the emulator resources.This includes analysis of clock and data networks, partitioning, placing andsynthesis of logic to support the mapping of the customer design onto theemulator. The individual will participate in design and implementation of newfunctionality for this part of the compiler as well as support currentfunctionality. The work will be mostly in C++ on Linux. They will write systemlevel tests that use software simulation as well as develop new testingmethods. This position will include interaction with other software teams aswell as Veloce hardware teams in an international, multi-site, developmentenvironment.
Job Qualifications
Required Skills:

• BS, MS or PhD inComputer Science or Computer Engineering.
• 0 to 3 years ofindustry, software development experience in developing large C++ applicationsas part of a team.
• Demonstrated experiencewith algorithm and data structure design.
• Understanding of gatelevel digital logic design.
• Excel both in ateam-oriented development and working independently.

Desired Skills:

• Demonstrated Experiencein EDA software development, especially in timing analysis, synthesis, designpartition or placement is a plus.
• Software engineeringskills with experience in use of Unix/Linux OS.
• Demonstrated experiencewith software testing methods.
• Experience in use ofHardware description language (Verilog/Vhdl).
• Experience in use of asoftware simulation tools (Modelsim, etc).
• Knowledge of scriptinglanguages (Python or SH script) would be useful.

This position will besubject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic inArms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status orobtaining any necessary export license.

The salary range forthis position is $101,200 to $182,200 and this role is eligible to earn incentivecompensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successfulcandidate's work location as well as additional factors, including job-relatedskills, experience, and relevant education/training.
