About Client:
The client provides information technology (IT) services, including business outsourcing, infrastructure technology, and application services. The application service offered by the company includes application development, maintenance, and support. The markets served by the company are financial services and insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, government, transportation, communications, and consumer and retail industries.
Salary Range: $115k-120k/annum
Rate Range: $65-70/hr on C2C or $55-60/hr on W2
Job Description:
- A candidate with 8+ years experience in Oracle and PostgreSQL Database Administration, Clustering, Database Migrations, Goldengate and AWS migration skills.
- Strong experience administering various multi-Terabyte, 24x7 uptime Oracle databases as a Systems/Infrastructure Database Administrator required.
- Solid experience working with Oracle versions and PostgreSQL performance tuning in a Linux environment.
- Strong experience in migrating multi-terabyte databases.
- Designing and managing PostgreSQL database schemas and experience in Security access controls.
- Strong knowledge of fault detection and resolution process.
- Strong experience in character set migrations.
- Design and implement database migration strategies from on-premises to AWS platform.
- Optimize database performance and ensure high availability of databases on AWS.
- Implement and manage database security, including encryption and access controls.
- Ensure compliance with PostgreSQL and Oracle industry best practices for database management.
- Experience with all backups, recover and upgrading PostgreSQL databases.
- Strong, proven Oracle Database Performance Diagnostic skills (at both the SQL and system levels)
- Experience with features such as Clustering, Storage optimization, DR maintenance, monitoring and Golden Gate replication.
- Proficiency in installing and configuring complex database management system environments, creating and maintaining databases as well as backup and recovery.
- Demonstrated ability to implement automated process to improve database system reliability.
- Skill at troubleshooting complex problems
- Background in IT infrastructure, including systems, storage, or network administration,
- Proficient development skills in a dynamic programming language such as Python and UNIX Shell Scripting. Also experience with Microservices is desirable. Experience of Ansible, Chef and Puppet are desirable.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Agile development methodology
- Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals.
- Dynamic team player with excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Understand the client requirements, analyze and translate them into a feasible solution.
- Demonstrate and articulate performance enhancement solutions to the clients and prospects.
- Execute the Proof of Concept from initial installation through to client acceptance.
- Ability to work in APAC, EMEA and NA hours.
- Somebody who has at least 8+ years of work experience as Oracle DBA
- Education qualification: B.Tech., BE, BCA, MCA, M. Tech or equivalent technical degree from a reputed college.
