About this opportunity

PAM Transport is looking to add a Software Engineer to their IT team! This programming position supports the business by analyzing, developing and modifying software applications including coding, testing, and involvement with installation.

Pay and Schedule

This position is Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. The pay range is $80,000 - $120,000/year.

How will you contribute to the success of the team?

• Collaborate with the business and IT Staff understand business needs
• Find the best software solution
• Engineer, develop and implement new software solutions or enhance existing software
• Document the software design, solution implementation detail, and deployment strategy
• Test/Debug new and/or modified software to ensure quality
• Review software solutions with business users
• Troubleshoot and debug existing code to identify and resolve issues

What makes you a strong candidate for this position?

• Passionate about Software Engineering with a desire to learn new languages, techniques, and new technologies.
• Strong software design skills, preferably across multiple platforms using different technologies.
• Great communication skills including oral, written, and system modeling skills
• Able to lead and facilitate meetings with technical and business users
• Possess broad IBM i Mid-Range computing environment experience
• Excellent programming abilities using RPG, RPG ILE, and RPG Free
• Proficient with structured design using service programs and modules to enhance extensibility and reusability
• Extensive knowledge of DB2 for i relational database concepts and experience using SQL DDL and SQL DDM for working with data structures and manipulating data
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Must be flexible and able to work within a structured governance and when that structure does not exist
