Koch Tax is building something new and valuable, a tax data platform that enables efficient and repeatable process transformation across our enterprise and makes many types of data available for automation that was not previously possible. Developing this new platform in support of our Tax Innovation Vision will be critical to our success as a Tax team at Koch Industries. The Software Engineer role is a key part of the Platform Delivery team. This role is responsible to provide reusable components which enable the acceleration of transformation processes. This role takes guidance from other software architects and engineers to build python-based object-oriented programs that ensure the environment is highly configurable, supports automated testing, continuous deployment at the highest levels of code compliance. This role also participates in the research and design for applications of natural language processing, symbolic mathematics, data mining and task automation.

The successful candidate must be self-directed, able to manage multiple projects, lead program teams, seek out opportunities to modernize processes, set priorities and meet deadlines.
What You Will Do
As a Software Engineer on our team, your major responsibilities will include:
- Configuration and maintenance of a python development environment
- Exploration and implementation of third-party python libraries in your problem-solving methodology.
- Develop, test and maintain high-quality software using Python programming language.
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, building, testing and delivering high-quality solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex problems.
- Write clean and reusable code that can be easily maintained and scaled.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Demonstrated experience in software development using Python with a strong portfolio of projects.
- In-depth understanding of the Python software development stacks, ecosystems, frameworks and tools such as Numpy, Scipy, Sympy, Pandas, Dask, spaCy, NLTK, sci-kit-learn and PyTorch.
- Experience with Snowflake Data Cloud and its SQL and Snowpark client tools.
- Experience with semi-structured data storage objects like Parquet, JSON, and YML
- Experience with DBT development and support
- Experience with Git or similar repositories.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience working in tax, accounting, business analytics, or related field
- Experience in data pipeline engineering and associated development patterns.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
