Milliman's Seattle Health Practice supports clients in the healthcare industry including health plans, government payers, providers, and reinsurers. We are looking for a Software Engineer to design, maintain, and support the development of healthcare data and analytics solutions in the Azure platform. Milliman’s Seattle Health Practice serves a wide variety of organizations, including insurance companies, health plans, state and federal agencies, healthcare providers, reinsurance companies, providers, Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), and employers. The staff consists of 150+ actuarial professionals in addition to healthcare consultants, IT, Administrative, and other non-actuarial staff.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
In this role, you will work with mixed teams of Software Engineers, actuaries, and non-technical subject matter experts to design, build, and maintain innovative products and solutions for a wide range of clients across the healthcare industry. This will include cloud-based solutions in Microsoft Azure, automating solutions and developing pipelines for efficient maintenance, developing robust automated testing tools, infrastructure as code deployment with Terraform, and building and designing proof of concept implementations for new features and products. Successful candidates will have strong attention to detail and commitment to creating accurate, scalable, maintainable software, as well as strong written and oral communication. This position includes the opportunity to work with clients and stakeholders to promote and enhance technical products.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications:
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years’ experience designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and how to apply it.
- Experience in Object Oriented Programming languages (e.g. C#, Java), JavaScript, and SQL
Personal Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in C#, Python, and React
- Certifications or relevant experience in Azure cloud technologies
- Experience working in a fast-paced consulting environment
Location
It is preferred that this employee work in-office, but remote candidates anywhere in the US will be considered.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $72,000 to $142,000, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
