SPA's Sea Land Air (SLA) Division supports a diverse portfolio of national security government clients, including the Undersea Enterprise, the Navy Surface Community, the Navy MPTE Enterprise, the Air Force, Army, DoD Agencies, DARPA, and international clients including the Canadian Navy and Australian Defence Force. Our primary objective is to provide timely, objective and analytic assessments that integrate the policy, operational, technical, programmatic and acquisition aspects of our clients' challenges.
Leveraging both in-domain and cross-domain expertise to maximize our clients' success, SLA Division acts as trusted agents to senior decision-makers and key leaders and excels at providing data driven analytic insights, systems engineering, strategies and plans that address current and emerging challenges to national security.
SPA's Operations Research and Cyber Analysis (ORCA) Group develops and employs simulation system products in support of operations, experimentation, and the acquisition analysis process. ORCA analysts apply Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools to identify and analyze trends in big data to solve real-world problems. ORCA Software Engineers and cyber security professionals develop, build, and deploy custom hardware and software solutions to meet our client's toughest challenges.
SPA is seeking an on-site Software Engineer at Commander, Pacific Fleet (CPF) in Honolulu, Hawaii to assist with the development of warfare simulations using the Naval Simulation System (NSS) and other software tools to support technical modeling and analysis. This work is in direct support of the CPF operational, planning, and assessment staff. Qualified applicants must be innate problem solvers who seek out technical challenges and excel in overcoming them and are adept at working independently and as part of a team.

ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborative software and algorithm development, integration, testing, troubleshooting, demonstration, and documenation.
- Assist analysts with operations research and modeling and simulation (M&S) studies involving complex naval operational plans.
- Assist analysts with NSS scenario preparation that investigate joint or naval operaitonal plans, evaluate the utility of warfare systems and tactics, and/or establish naval warfare requirements. Studies involve multiple warfare areas with emphasis on undersea warfare including MIW / MCM, C4ISR, and maritime interdiction.
- Interface directly with clients and end users.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- High proficiency and recent experience using C++
- At least 3 years of programming experience
- Exposure to object-oriented concepts including polymorphism, data structures, and algorithms
- Working knowledge of full stack software development
- Ability to take direction from and collaborate with senior developers, project managers, and clients
- Detail-oriented and motivated to complete projects
- US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED; Successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET//SCI clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
- At least 2 years of applied programming experience in C++
- Working knowledge of all aspects of the software development life cycle
- Familiarity with environmental modeling, mapping software, and/or command and control are desirable
- Ability to meet team and client schedules while working productively on several high-profile projects simultaneously
- Ability to communicate technical details effectively, both verbally and in writing, to end users, team members, managers, and clients
- Active TS/SCI clearance
