Job/Position Summary
Key responsibilities include all aspects of the software development lifecycle. You will be designing, developing, testing, and maintaining globally deployed test systems utilizing COTS software platforms and languages. Additional key aspects include manufacturing data collection, analysis, storage and SQL database management. The role requires exceptional problem-solving skills, interpersonal communication skills and the ability to function efficiently in a globally distributed team.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Develop world-class software solutions that automate product manufacturing, data collection, storage and analysis in a time critical and customer centric automotive manufacturing environment
- Responsible for creating system requirements, producing software specifications and determining operational feasibility
- Perform coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the application development process in a hybrid development environment consisting of both waterfall and agile methodologies
- Utilize the latest source control methodologies to maintain an organized and well documented code base
- Comply with cybersecurity standards, industry standards and internal best practices ensuring robust software designs and implementation
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives in support of internal and customer focused requirements
- Lead design, documentation, and code reviews for database and software development tasks
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience with LabVIEW VI development and deployment is required
- Proven experience with .NET [VB.NET and/or C#] programming languages is required
- Experience developing enterprise solutions for high volume data collection, reporting, and management is required
- Experience with source code control; BitBucket, Git, SVN or equivalent is required
- Excellent knowledge of relational databases [SQL Server] is preferred
- Experience working in a demanding, fast paced, automotive production driven environment is preferred
- Ability to take ownership of large tasks and/or projects with minimal assistance
- Fluency in Spanish is desirable
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, computer science, data science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in software design, development, or database management for manufacturing applications is required.
Physical/Working Requirements:
- Ability to work several hours at a computer
- Ability to travel < 50% (domestic and international) as needed
Working Environment:
- Standard office environment
- Extended periods in a manufacturing environment
