The Software Development Manager plays a crucial role in advancing the company's business strategy, with a particular emphasis on the online banking experience. This individual leads a team of developers responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom software solutions. The manager acts as an in-house expert developer, mentoring the team across all stages of the development lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

·         Designs and oversees the implementation of our custom C#, React, JavaScript, and Ruby software architecture

·         Organizes and manages tasks and projects related to online banking on a daily basis, using project management processes and coordinates work with the Quality Assurance team

·         Develops forward looking solutions that delight our members and provide industry leading experiences

·         Inspires all stakeholders with a roadmap of online member experience which includes the new account acquisition system

·         Leads and grows a team of creative software developers and helps them achieve their goals through one-on-one coaching, code-reviews, technical troubleshooting, and debugging

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

·         Minimum of 5 years of technology experience

·         Minimum 2 years of management experience preferred

·         Exhibits excellent debugging and problem-solving skills

·         Demonstrates a solid grasp of both business and technical problem-solving techniques

·         Leads teams effectively, managing multiple objectives and adhering to deadlines

·         Possesses a strong spirit of innovation, independence, and the capability to devise solutions for business challenges

·         Possesses effective presentation skills, both verbally and in writing, capable of conveying ideas, solutions, or processes in a manner suitable for an executive audience

·         Ability to communicate and discuss software components in simple, general terms with business users and in great detail with IT personnel

·         Possesses a working knowledge of development methodologies like Waterfall and Agile

·         Understands secure coding principles

·         Has experience with C# and .NET Frameworks or similar technologies

·         Proficient in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5

·         Conducts high-quality code reviews

·         Skilled in using REST and SOAP APIs

·         Utilizes GitHub or an equivalent source control system

·         Has experience in process improvement and automation

·         Knowledgeable in Relational Databases and tools, including Microsoft SQL Server

·         Familiar with web server technologies like IIS, Apache, or Nginx

• Prior experience in banking or financial technology, especially with knowledge of Architect or MeridianLink software, is preferred
