This is a Summer 2024 Internship - May 28 - August 2, 2024 and MUST sit 2-3 days in the Midvale, UT office.
See Yourself as a Software Development Intern
The Software Development Intern functions will include development, transitioning support, testing, conducting knowledge transfer, workflow documentation, technical documentation, and creating work scope for an expanding set of Radian Mortgage Insurance and Services related applications. They will be troubleshooting code issues, debugging application events, researching data anomalies, creating, and updating knowledge in a team environment. This role will have opportunities to work closely with a mix of Developers and Support technicians.

  • Build and develop solutions against various platforms such as React, C#, and .NET.
  • Support application issues through troubleshooting, creating enhancements, and fixing Bugs and Defects.
  • Perform Data backend query fundamentals (joins, updates, selects) using SQL Server
  • Coding UI tests for application synthetics.
  • Support source code management and deployment using GIT.
  • ServiceNow ticket handling, Knowledge Base (KB) creation, and Service Level Agreements (SLA) adherence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

Basic Education and Prior Work-Related Experience:
  • Required: currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree with a concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related discipline.

Additional Qualifications
  • Technical background and experience in a development team, preferred React, ASP.NET or C# programming framework.
  • Training or working experience with T-SQL syntax and relational databases.
  • Learned troubleshooting of Web-based apps, SDLC, and services.
  • Strong Dev or Dev Ops abilities.
  • Knowledge of testing and debugging application code is essential, coupled with experience in a new development role with focus on defects.
  • Knowledge of software packages for development, Code Repos, Transaction commits, Visual Studio, MSMS, and GitHub
  • General Knowledge of System Administration, Server components, and IIS
  • Full attention to details, interpersonal skills, logical understanding of OOP, and problem solving.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced dynamic AGILE environment
  • Experience in writing unit and functional tests.
  • Agile/Scrum development
  • Understanding of database (MS SQL Server or Oracle), and experience on writing SQL/Stored Procedure).

Program Requirements
Interns will be required to participate in specific workshops and events in addition to their intern duties assigned by their people leader. This includes a NEW, 2-day in-person event at the Wayne, PA office being held at the end of July.
