Description: The Software Developer 2 will coordinate an Agile development team on a Government program in an Agile development environment. He or she will ensure all activities use the principles of the Scrum framework. The successful candidate will help the team self-organize and adopt an attitude of continuous improvement.

Software Developer 2 Job Duties: 

• Designs, develops, enhances, debugs, and implements software in Java.
• Use Agile development tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket to manage work and collaborate with a team.
• Support creation and updating of relevant documentation for design, development and testing.
• Work closely with other engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.
• Researches, tests, builds, and coordinates the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements. Designs and develops new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
• Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools.
• Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
• other duties as assigned.

Security Clearance Requirements: None required upon applying, but ability to obtain Secret-level clearance within 6 months of hire date..

Experience Requirements: Required: 2+ years of recent Java and Linux (RHEL and/or CentOS). Demonstrated experience with similar programs that include development and sustainment, or agile development methodology (Scrum).

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in computer science, computer engineering, or closely related field; or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Desired Skills / Qualifications: Spring experience preferred.

Location: Remote position with occasional travel to Clarksburg, WV 

Status: Full time

Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Friday

Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long durations of time. Also, must be able to continuously operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
