Software Architect who will define and oversee the architectural approach to our scientific instrument software. This role requires deep knowledge of cloud architecture, IoT, networking, and cybersecurity, as the successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategies and solutions for secure, scalable, and reliable applications and connected devices.Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to
Responsibilities:
Lead and define the architectural strategy and execution for our software solutions, ensuring alignment with the company's business goals and technological capabilities.Design and implement high-performance, secure, and scalable Software Architectures for applications and connected devices.Evaluate and select appropriate services, tools, and frameworks to support the development of scientific instrument and data analysis software.Ensure the Software Architecture supports necessary security, data privacy, and compliance standards.Collaborate with development teams to implement the architectural vision, providing technical leadership and guidance throughout the software development lifecycle.Conduct proof-of-concept projects to validate new architectures and solutions.Continuously monitor and analyze the market and technological trends to stay ahead of industry developments.Communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders and team members in a clear and concise manner.Mentor and support the development team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.At least 8 years of experience in software development, with a minimum of 5 years in a Software Architecture role.Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining cloud-based applications using providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Strong understanding of IoT principles, protocols, and standards.Solid knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.Extensive knowledge of network architecture and application development methodologies.Experience with data processing and storage frameworks.Demonstrated ability to make architectural decisions, balancing long-term goals with short-term needs.Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.Nice-to-have:
Certifications related to cloud architecture, security, or IoT.Experience in the scientific instrument or research-focused industry.Company Description
