KBX Technology Solutions, LLC, a provider of transportation technology to industry leaders, is currently seeking an experienced Software Architect with a strong proficiency in event-driven microservice architecture to join our innovative team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping and implementing scalable, secure, and efficient backend architectures that harness the power of cloud-native technologies and event-driven principles. Your expertise will be instrumental in defining and executing data strategies, ensuring data integrity, and enabling advanced analytics and insights within our dynamic cloud-native environment.

Our Team

The Software Architect is an essential member of our Platform Architecture team, focused on providing comprehensive platform architecture principles which form the bedrock of all our products. Close collaboration with Software, Cloud, and Data architect peers allows the collective formulation of strategic blueprints and guidelines that underpin our core capabilities and product offerings.

What You Will Do

  • Architect Event-Driven Microservices: Collaborate cross-functionally to design and architect event-driven microservice solutions that align seamlessly with cloud-native principles. Research, evaluate and select appropriate tools, technologies, and frameworks to support data storage, processing, integration, and analytics within an event-driven context.
  • Lead Observability Strategy: Design and implement a comprehensive observability strategy, utilizing industry-leading tools and practices to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the platform.
  • Promote Knowledge Sharing and Transformation: Play an active role in driving transformative initiatives across KBX, offering guidance in architecture and enablement. Collaborate with colleagues to foster a culture of shared knowledge and continuous improvement.
  • Drive Event-Driven Integration: Lead the design and supervision of event-driven data integration processes, encompassing event sourcing, data streaming, and API-driven workflows. Collaborate closely with data engineers and developers to facilitate seamless and efficient data integration across diverse systems and applications.
  • Cloud-Native Prowess: Spearhead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-native solutions utilizing technologies like Kubernetes, Kafka, microservices, and containers. Ensure these solutions exhibit high availability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness, establishing a robust cornerstone for comprehensive back-end development.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience communicating and collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into a product that aligns with event-driven and microservices paradigms.
  • Experience working with the .NET framework and C# to create
  • Experience with AWS cloud services
  • Experience in event-driven architecture, data modeling, data integration, and data governance principles.
  • Experience in cloud-native technologies, encompassing Kubernetes, Kafka, microservices, and managed services, with a keen understanding of the application in product development.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience assessing, designing, and implementing SaaS solutions, combining C# experience with event-driven architecture and microservices
  • Experience designing and implementing microservices using gRPC to enhance the efficiency and interconnectivity of microservices within the platform ecosystem.
  • Experience refining and enhancing software design and development practices to continuously deliver higher quality products and reduce time to value.
  • Experience working in an agile enterprise environment

For this role, we anticipate paying $150,000 - $200,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
