Position Description:

Under the supervision of a licensed clinician, Social Work/Counseling Interns complete clinical or psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and skills-based groups with geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients. Social Work/Counseling Interns assist masters level clinicians with obtaining information to determine level of care and initiating admission to inpatient or outpatient services. Social Work/Counseling Interns assist program therapists with scheduling aftercare appointments and social service supports. Social Work/Counseling Interns participate in assigned activities that support the function of the social services, outpatient, and intake departments.

Education: Enrolled in 2nd year MSW or accredited counseling/psychology program at an approved school.

License: Must be in an LPC or LSW eligible program.

Additional Requirements: Social work and counseling interns are expected to be on-site 3 days per week as scheduled by assigned program. Internship opportunities begin in August and May. Interns must be willing to commit to interning for at least 2 full semesters. Interns are expected to be on site during school breaks. Must be able to attend 2 week Monday through Friday, on site orientation and training prior to starting their internship. Must be able to pass a competency exam and evaluation.
