Set amidst the serene beauty, our brand-new learning campus is emerging just a short 15-minute drive east of Ellsworth, the county seat, and a scenic 40 miles from bustling Bangor. Notably close to Bar Harbor and the stunning Acadia National Park, our Charles M. Sumner Learning Campus houses both Sumner Middle School and Sumner Memorial High School, fostering a community of approximately 480 students spanning grades 6 through 12. Our focus at Charles M. Sumner Learning Campus revolves around empowering students to navigate diverse environments and make impactful contributions to their communities, fostering an environment that champions challenge within a safe and respectful setting.
We are seeking a reliable, honest, and collaborative colleague who is passionate about students as well as their content area. This is the perfect opportunity to work with a truly dedicated faculty and staff! Experience building positive relationships with students and having the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively is essential. The successful candidate will have a knowledge of differentiating instruction to meet the various needs of all learners. New teachers are encouraged to apply!
The successful candidate must hold, or be eligible for, a Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification (#200M 5-8), (#200S 7-12), and/or a general (#020 General K-8). They must also hold a current MDOE Criminal History Records check. Pay is based upon experience and level of education.
