Code2040 is a small (15-person) nonprofit organization working to achieve proportional representation for Black and Latinx people in the tech industry. Code2040 activates, connects, and mobilizes the largest racial equity community in tech to dismantle the structural barrier that prevents the full participation and leadership of Black and Latinx technologists in the innovation economy.
Through events, trainings, early-career programs, and knowledge sharing, Code2040 equips Black and Latinx technologists and their allies with the tools, connections, and care they need to advocate for and achieve racial equity in the tech industry.

The Opportunity:
Code2040 is looking for a self-motivated independent contractor to join our organization as a Social Media Manager on a 6-8 month contract, 10-15 hours per week to start (with possibility for contract extension thereafter). You will be responsible for administering our Social Media accounts, creating original text, graphic, or video content, managing posts, and responding to followers.
You will manage our company image in a cohesive way to achieve our marketing goals. As a Social Media Manager, we expect you to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and Social Media trends. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company's views creatively. Ultimately, you should be able to handle our Social Media presence ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement.
To ensure success as an independent contractor, you should possess excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ultimately, an outstanding Independent Contractor will produce high-quality work with minimal supervision.
