Social Media Coordinator

This part-time position will work closely with the Communications Committee, as well as the Museum and Research Center Directors, to provide timely, accurate, and consistent messaging on all Social Media platforms as well as internal and outside communication media.
Experience
Computer skills and experience in Social Media platforms, web applications and navigation. Marketing and Microsoft Excel experience preferred.
Benefits
This is a part-time position (9 hours per week) with no retirement or medical insurance benefits. Compensation will be based on an hourly wage, established annually by the KCHS Board and paid monthly. Entry salary $14 per hour. Schedule of hours to be determined.
Job Responsibilities
The primary location for the coordinator will be the KCHS Museum at 513 Court Street in Fulton, Missouri. The Museum Director will serve as supervisor.
1. Facebook and other Social Media platforms as appropriate (Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
- Post information relating to events, announcements, and/or historical photos
- Coordinate calendar of announcements to event timeline
- Post Videos to YouTube for use on Social Media platforms as appropriate to the project
- Develop QR codes as needed for events or topics
2. Website updates
- Update information and/or photos for events or announcements and remove outdated information as timeline dictates.
- Post and update registration or application forms for organizational needs.
- Post page banners for special announcements.
- Add or edit new events or topics to website navigation.
- Post new blog posts to website as needed.
- Post organizational newsletter one week after distribution.
3. PR notices – Coordinate PR notices to local area papers as well as partnership contacts, i.e. Brick District, area Chambers, county newsletters, and organizations.
4. Proof incoming text or articles prior to posting.
5. Mass Email – Distribute organizational messaging by mass email product used by the organization. (Currently Mail Chimp)
6. Meetings – Attend meetings of the Communications Committee.
Other Responsibilities
- Records – Regularly update membership records in Excel.
- Labels – Conduct mail merge to produce labels for mailings.
- Museum – Assist with coverage at the Museum.
- Other duties as assigned.
