Social Media Content Intern

As a Social Media Content Intern at Well Done, you will help us develop editorial strategies, write copy and collaborate with our creative team to deliver intentional organic Social Media experiences for multiple clients. This role does not create visual assets and does not need graphic design experience.

Position:

A Social Media Content Intern, you will spend your time getting to know our clients and translating their brand into effective Social Media Content that resonates with users and builds engagement. Writers who want to learn more about how to write for digital platforms and marketers who want to learn about earned media are encouraged to apply. Special consideration given to the chronically online and active Social Media users.

Reports to:                               Mandy Facer, VP of Strategic Services

Position Type:                          Part-time; hourly paid internship

Expected Hours of Work:       Monday – Friday, Flexible schedule equivalent to 20                 hours/wk. as agreed with management

Internship Duration:               12 weeks/240 hrs. from May 21, 2023 – Aug 11, 2023               (approx. dates)

Degree Track:                          Must be a registered student working towards a degree in         communications, marketing, advertising, English, or a               similar field.        

Essential Job Functions:

• Writing organic social copy
• Building and updating content calendars
• Researching Social Media trends and user behavior
• Helping build best practice guides for creating organic Social Media
• Shadowing digital strategy and public relations team members
• Supporting other marketing initiatives as assigned

Skills & Experience:

• Social media user (you don’t need to be an influencer, we don’t care about your follower count)
• Writer (preference for experience with writing short form copy)
• Learner (we don’t expect you to know everything, but we want you to be willing to learn anything)
• Time management (must be able to balance multiple clients and deadlines at a time)

Work Environment:

This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, digital cameras, and scanners.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time.

Travel:

Travel may be limited for client meetings or other agency activities.
