Social Insurance Specialist (DI) positions are being filled through the Office of Personnel Management's delegated Direct Hire Authority, open to all U.S. citizens. Selections made under this bulletin will be processed as new appointments to the civil service. Current civil service employees would, therefore, be given new appointments to the civil service. To qualify for this GS-11 position, applicants must have at least one of the following:
- 52 weeks of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 and/or GS-10 level (or above) in the federal service that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience must include developing, examining, investigating, adjudicating, authorizing, or otherwise administering claims for medical disability programs; OR
- A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR
- Completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education (generally at least 54 semester hours) leading to a Ph.D. or LL.M., if related; OR
- A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience that together meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
Foreign Education: If your transcripts show education completed in foreign colleges or universities, you must also provide documentation that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in a conventional/accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.Employment Type: FULL_TIME
