Responsibilities:
- The SNL Coach is responsible for development and coaching SNL Sports and Recreation Program. Coach activities related to sports & recreation such basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, boxing, gymnastics, tumbling, flag football and yoga.
- Coach annual tournament, participating in local & citywide tournaments & Olympics.
- Organize various sports clinics.
- Recruit youth for specialized teams.
- Assist Program Coordinator to plan and organize workshops for gym participants.
- Assist Program Coordinator to supervise all of the activities that are held in the gymnasium.
- Monitor and keep an inventory of all recreational and sports supplies, including Game Room supplies.
- Attend staff meetings when scheduled.
- Submit weekly reports on a timely basis.
- Inform Program Director of changes or any irregularities.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Salary: $30/ per hour. This is a part-time 6 hour weekly position.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
Saturdays 3:00pm to 9:00pm
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, working towards AA or BA degree.
- Strong knowledge of sports and recreation, minimum of one year experience in organizing tournaments and working with youth.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability and patience to work with children and young people, recognizing their exuberance and juvenile behavior, particularly in group settings.
- Remain in a stationary position either working at a computer or monitoring activities.
- Move for long periods, providing instruction.
- Travel when taking field trips, using public transportation, Traverse City streets, ascend/descend stairs, and be exposed to outside weather conditions, while escorting youth.
- Exposed to outside weather conditions during the summer months.
