he SNAP-Ed Mul i-Level Specialis coordina es, conduc s, and promo es Supplemen al Nu ri ion Assis ance Program - Educa ion (SNAP-Ed) mul i-level ini ia ives and ac ivi ies ha de ermine policies, sys ems, and environmen al (PSE) changes which influence Massachuse s SNAP par icipan s' food choices and physical ac ivi y.

Essen ial Func ions

• Iden ify evidence-based in erven ions and bes prac ices ha include:
  • Mul i-level and communi y public heal h approaches and PSE change ac ivi ies, me hods, and in erven ions for obesi y/food insecuri y preven ion wi h low-income popula ions.
  • Evalua ing and documen ing he impac s of mul i-level and communi y public heal h approaches and PSE change ini ia ives.
• Develop and se PSE goals and objec ives in collabora ion wi h NEP program, D A, all SNAP-Ed Implemen ing Agencies, and o her collabora ors.
  • U ilize SNAP-Ed Guidance and In erpre ive Guide, and he SNAP-Ed Connec ion resources and In erven ion ools o make opera ional he SNAP-Ed Evalua ion Frameworks for se ing goals & objec ives, documen ing ac ivi ies, and measuring PSE impac s and achievemen s in Massachuse s.
  • Oversee raining on he implemen a ion of PSE change s ra egies in coordina ion wi h Nu ri ion Educa ion Program goals and objec ives o complemen SNAP-Ed direc educa ion programming.
• Develop s a e and regional level SNAP-Ed collabora ions and par nerships (including Memorandums of Unders anding) wi h agencies, organiza ions, and programs whose work is rela ed o obesi y/food insecuri y preven ion wi h SNAP/low-income audiences, wi h a special focus on:
  • USDA assis ance programs such as WIC, school and summer meals programs, and he Farm o School program.
  • S a e agencies such as he Dep . of Public Heal h and Dep . of Elemen ary and Secondary Educa ion and he S a e Nu ri ion Ac ion Council (SNAC).
• Par icipa e in and conduc work wi h agencies and ini ia ives as appropria e o Massachuse s SNAP-Ed goals and objec ives. Share PSE change informa ion wi h all SNAP-Ed implemen ing agencies.
  • Provide upda es and conduc raining for SNAP-Ed s aff regarding mul i-level in erven ions, communi y/public heal h ac ivi ies, and PSE change oppor uni ies for SNAP-Ed involvemen , and se ing goals/documen ing impac s and achievemen s of hese ac ivi ies.
• Accep and respond o informa ion and reques s from Nu ri ion Educa ion Program s aff for echnical exper ise and involvemen in mul i-level and communi y/public heal h ac ivi ies and PSE change issues in communi ies wi hin heir region.
• Coordina e he explora ion and iden ifica ion of new ini ia ives and oppor uni ies for he SNAP-Ed program, ensuring he programs implemen ed in Massachuse s are evidence-based, curren wi h s ra egies na ionwide and engage he SNAP-eligible audience.
• Documen mul i-level, communi y/public heal h SNAP-Ed ac ivi ies, and PSE change ac ivi ies, measure, and documen impac s.
• Assis wi h wri ing repor s, plans and success s ories o share exper ise and ou comes.

Minimum Qualifica ions (Knowledge, Skills, Abili ies, Educa ion, Experience, Cer ifica ions, Licensure)

• MA/MS/MPH degree in Nu ri ion, Communi y Nu ri ion, Public Heal h, Heal h Promo ion, or rela ed field and hree (3) years' full ime professional experience relevan o he posi ion.
• Experience wi h developing public heal h ac ivi ies designed o suppor behavior change in erven ions.
• Demons ra ed abili y o communica e, in erac , collabora e, and ne work wi h a varie y of s akeholders focused on a common goal or mission.
• Excellen in erpersonal and group process skills wi h diverse groups of people in a eam se ing.
• Abili y o main ain a diverse schedule of local, regional, and s a ewide ac ivi y which is no res ric ed by access o public or priva e ranspor a ion.
• Proficiency using compu er programs for word processing, prepara ion of presen a ions and repor s, da a en ry/managemen /analysis, online research, and elec ronic communica ion.
