Form of work The Democratic National Committee seeks a skilled writer and digital strategist with experience with broadcast SMS to join the Email and SMS team and help run the DNC's broadcast texting program for the purposes of grassroots fundraising and cultivation. You will be responsible for managing the SMS calendar and with managing broadcast SMS fundraising campaigns from start to finish. The SMS Manager will report to the Email and SMS Director.
Responsibilities:
- Set and manage a monthly calendar to engage and mobilize DNC supporters via SMS.
- Work with the Email and SMS Director to set monthly projections.
- Lead drafting and editing process for broadcast SMS messages.
- Collaborate with other members of the Email and SMS team and outside departments to coordinate send times, testing strategies, suppression lists, and to ensure SMS messaging reflects the DNC's larger messaging as a whole.
- Produce broadcast SMS campaigns, monitoring each campaign to ensure good returns and deliverability.
- Create, plan, and analyze tests on a daily basis to optimize fundraising. Share the findings of those tests with the larger team to ensure everyone is up to date on best practices when drafting.
- Craft rapid response and oversee production as needed.
- Assist the Email and SMS Team with overflow drafting and production needs.
- Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission.
About you: Qualifications
- You have 2-3 years of SMS management experience on a campaign, committee, advocacy organization, or other relevant professional experience.
- You are familiar with online organizing and fundraising platforms (i.e. Action Network, ActBlue, Scale to Win).
- You have demonstrated experience mobilizing supporters or volunteers to take action.
The starting salary for the SMS Manager position is $65,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
This is a full-time, exempt position that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of November 15, 2024. This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.
